Spring Fling for Your Viewing Enjoyment

My friend Gale has sent me another film clip that I would like to share with you. It's of a very large donkey and a very small donkey having an all-out rasslin match. The large donkey is a study in stoicism and patience, the small donkey is obviously part Jack Russell terrier and hounds his friend mercilessly.

I have a strong suspicion that the small donkey is a close relative of TJ (Virgil). Those ankle biting moves look awfully familiar.

Loved how the little guy kept going in between the hind legs of his friend! That bigger donkey is very tolerant!

Buddy, does it make you crave the companionship of one of these ankle biters?

Billie, that's the part the woman finds utterly hilarious. The large donkey is a study in patience. Do you think Redford could offer the same level of rasslin?

Sheaffer, I've never seen Redford go in the hind legs like that - but all the rest of the moves he has down.

Rafer Johnson has never offered that kind of play with the horses. He does all kinds of rasslin' with Redford, but seems to view the horses as steadfast companions rather than playmates.

I can see TJ doing something like that though!

Dougie does this with Flynn, but he is not nearly so tolerant - after a little while he just reaches down & picks Dougs up by the scruff of his neck!

Think the ankle biting is an attempt to get the hamstrings, or just a "go one - chase me" invite?

Dougie, hard to say what the little terror is up to - but it certainly strikes me as some sort of imprinted fight program. He seems terribly interested in the big lad's ankle area, which strikes me as peculiar. Do you have any photos with Flynn holding Dougie in mid-air?

Not many photos of anything, as we are still struggling with the tail end of winter snow. I will attempt to get some pics before I take their rugs off though.
